The attacks that have taken place in Canada over the last two days are a sign that the Islamic State (ISIS) and al-Qaida have come to Canada, says former CIA analyst Lisa Ruth.
"When you look at these attacks, there's no question that the shadow of ISIS and al-Qaida reach Canada," Ruth told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on
Newsmax TV Thursday.

"The question is whether ISIS or al-Qaida directed this or whether this is someone who was an emotional recruit," she explained.
"ISIS last week called on recruits to attack military and police targets," he said. "They have been calling on their supporters. They've been using social media."
"I don't think that it's out of the question that this is in retaliation for joining the coalition," she added.
A soldier was shot and killed at the Ottawa war memorial outside of Parliament Wednesday by 32-year-old Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, who was later shot and killed by security in the Parliament building. It has been learned that the
shooter recently converted to Islam, and he had recently had his passport revoked by government officials because he was deemed a high-risk traveler.
"Originally, the information that came out said that there were two coordinated attacks — one at the war memorial and then one at Parliament," Ruth told Newsmax.

"If that was the case or if it turns out to be the case, it'll be far more likely that ISIS or al-Qaida or another group directed it," she explained.
"If it was one gunman then you have to look at someone who is a recruit whether it's directly recruited or through social media," she said.
"He was clearly sympathetic to ISIS," she added. "But then he may have acted independently."
On Tuesday, a Canadian man tried to run over two soldiers with his car. He was later killed by police officers. The Canadian government said that the driver "had become radicalized."
According to Ruth, "at this point, you can't separate what's going on in the Middle East from what happened in Canada."
