Leon Panetta, former Obama administration Defense Secretary and CIA Director, said Sunday it is inevitable that terrorists will strike in America as they did in Paris earlier this month.

Based on recent events not only in Paris, but also in Ottawa and Belgium, Islamic terrorists now appear engaged in "a much more aggressive effort based on their recruiting, based on what's happening in Syria and Iraq and Yemen," he said.
Terrorists are engaged in a much more aggressive effort to conduct violence not only in Europe, he said, but "I think it's a matter of time before they direct it at the United States as well. "
Terror on America soil is a real threat, Panetta said, "and we've got to be prepared to confront that."
