Conservative commentator Pat Buchanan told Newsmax TV on Friday that the United States was headed down "a very dicey road" with President Donald Trump's decertification of the Iran nuclear deal.
Buchanan, 78, who served in the Nixon and Reagan administrations, told Bill Tucker on "Newsmax Now" that he agreed with Defense Secretary James Mattis and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that "the Iranians are complying with the deal."

"The Europeans believe it. The inspectors believe it. Almost everyone agrees.
"I do think we're headed for trouble if Congress were to attempt to re-impose the sanctions that were lifted when Iran signed the deal," he said.
"If that were the case, we would be on a road at the end of which lies a war between the United States and Iran.
"Iran has signed a deal and is complying with its terms, as everyone agrees — and I don't think they're going to be bullied into accepting new sanctions or making changes on the demand of the United States," Buchanan explained further.
"I think we're headed down a very dicey road.
"If the Republican Party re-imposes the sanctions that were lifted when Iran signed the deal and abided by the deal," he reiterated, "we're setting ourselves up for a collision course with Iran and a possible another war in the Middle East on top of the one in Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Libya and Yemen."
