Rep. Fred Keller, R-Pa., says he’s objecting to Electoral College votes on Jan. 6 where the Constitution has been violated, including Pennsylvania.
“The things that are not in dispute in Pennsylvania is the fact that the U.S. Constitution and Pennsylvania’s Constitution, the authority rests with the legislature for election law and we know also that’s not in dispute that the governor and the secretary of the commonwealth changed the rules, and they did not consult,” Keller said Tuesday during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “American Agenda.”
“It was not done through the legislative process. Therefore, the process was not done by the Constitution. I took an oath as a state representative serving in the capitol for a few terms to uphold the Pennsylvania and U.S. Constitution. I just took my second oath of office here in Congress to uphold the U.S. Constitution. I intend to do that.”
Upwards of 100 House Republicans and at least a dozen senators plan to object to the Jan. 6 certification of the Electoral College votes, setting up debate in both chambers on whether to certify the election results for Joe Biden.
“Looking at this, I think it needs to happen because the attorney general in Pennsylvania, chief law enforcement officer in the commonwealth, did nothing to get to the bottom of what happened with all these things in Pennsylvania,” Keller said. “The courts did nothing but rubber stamp what the governor did. This is the only way we have to say when the executive branch takes authority from the legislative branch, they need to be held accountable. I’ll do it for this reason.”
Biden won Pennsylvania by a slim margin in the 2020 presidential election, 50% to 48.8%.
