The Justice Department inspector general's investigation of FBI Director James Comey only seeks to "call into question the legitimacy of Donald Trump's win," former surrogate and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoekstra told Newsmax TV on Friday.

"They're not going to investigate Loretta Lynch meeting with former President Bill Clinton as his wife was about ready to be interviewed" in the email scandal last summer, Hoekstra told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "One more roadblock.

"These guys just can't let go of power — and they can't believe that they lost a free and fair election.

"It's really too bad," Hoekstra added. "These people are not leaving Washington very gracefully."
