Pro-Life Advocate: 'Overly Politicized Culture' Led to Indictment on PP Videos

Two members of the Center for Medical Progress were indicted for the undercover videos on Planned Parenthood and the sale of fetal body parts solely because of "this overly politicized culture where Planned Parenthood is not held accountable for anything that they do," Dr. Charmaine Yoest of Americans United for Life told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"You really kind of wonder how any of the truth about the horrible kinds of things that are going on behind the closed doors of Planned Parenthood would ever come out if someone had not gone undercover to pursue the truth and to expose it," Yoest, the organization's president and CEO, told "Newsmax Now" hosts John Bachman and Miranda Khan. "All of the evidence is there for anyone who wants to watch the videos."

A Houston grand jury Monday indicted David Daleiden, CMP's founder, on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record and a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs.

Sandra Merritt, another member of the group, was also indicted for allegedly tampering with a governmental record, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Yoest said the indictment created an "Alice in Wonderland realty" and lashed out at Planned Parenthood's accusations that the CMP footage was heavily edited.

"It's kind of ridiculous because there have been multiple forensic analysis of the videos showing that there was not any kind of manipulation of the videos," she told Newsmax. "Of course, they were edited for length.

"Editing does not place incriminatory statements onto a video. Planned Parenthood themselves are the ones that said the damning things on the video.

"They can't get away from that."
