Comedian Larry Wilmore's decision to use the n-word when referring to President Barack Obama over the weekend was disrespectful and wrong, a former member of the Donald Trump campaign told
Newsmax TV.
Sam Nunberg, who once worked as an advisor to the real estate mogul's presidential campaign, talked about
Wilmore's use of the controversial word at the end of his speech during the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
"If Larry Wilmore wants to conclude Barack Obama's last White House Correspondents' Dinner with that, that's his prerogative. I don't think that's fair or respectful to Barack Obama," Nunberg told "Unfiltered" host Dennis Michael Lynch.
"I didn't watch it Saturday night, but when I was coming on your show I watched it and I sort of understood where he was coming from, saying this was great and I grew up in the south, we would never imagine that we would have a black president. But then for those to be the last words that he says as Barack Obama is leaving the stage for his last White House Correspondents' Dinner is just terrible."

Nunberg pointed out he believes Obama has caused more racial divide in the United States. And that, he said, is where Trump comes in.
"That's why somebody like Donald Trump is able to compete and be successful during this campaign season because like us, [he does] not like being pushed around anymore, being told this double standard," Nunberg said.

Al Sharpton said Wilmore's choice to use the word was "at best, in poor taste."
