O'Reilly: Trump 'Opens Himself Up to Trap' in Mueller Interview

(Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now")

Bill O'Reilly told Newsmax TV on Thursday that if President Donald Trump interviewed with Russia special counsel Robert Mueller, "he opens himself up to a trap."

"The evidence is that the president of the United States is not going to be implicated in any direct Russian collusion deal," O'Reilly told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman. "That's what the evidence is so far.

"If he sits with Mueller, he opens himself up to a trap," he added.

"He could say something — maybe because Trump shoots from the hip — that doesn't jibe up with a year a half ago.

"And, then, you can say perjury or misleading," O'Reilly explained. "You've got to be very, very careful."

However, he cautioned: "Whatever he does with Mueller is going to be leaked.

"Going to be leaked fast — and it's not gonna be leaked to the good of Donald Trump.

"You sit down Mueller, it's immediately going to be leaked — and it's not going to be good for the president."
