Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., says elected officials need to remember to listen to the people who voted them into office.
“People who are elected by the people need to remember they need to listen to the people,” Taylor Greene said Tuesday during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “John Bachman Now” when asked about the infighting and sniping between President Donald Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, and top Georgia election official Gabe Sterling, all Republicans, about the election results in the state.
“Over 75% of people who voted for President Donald J. Trump believe this election has been stolen. Thousands of people have signed affidavits at risk of perjuring themselves in a court saying they witnessed voter fraud, witnessed wrongdoing. I believe those are the people they should be listening to especially when they are elected by the people.”
Duncan on Tuesday condemned Trump’s phone call with Raffensperger about challenging the results in Georgia, calling the phone call “inappropriate.”
"I am 100% certified to tell you that it was inappropriate. And it certainly did not help the situation," Duncan told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on "New Day."
"It was based on misinformation, it was based on, you know, all types of theories that have been debunked and disproved over the course of the last 10 weeks."
Taylor Greene said infighting in the party wasn’t important.
“They need to do the right thing,” she said.
