Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that Donald Trump was "not at all" being smart in refusing to endorse Speaker Paul Ryan and Arizona Sen. John McCain in their re-election primaries.
"This is really dumb," DeLay, 69, who led the House from 2003 to 2005, told "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner. "What's he going to do with all those people in Wisconsin — and he needs Wisconsin badly — who love Paul Ryan?
"I'm not a big John McCain fan, but he's got a lot of fans in Arizona — and Arizona is another very important state that the Donald needs."

DeLay's new book is "Revival! Revolution! Rebirth!"
"Maybe he's going to prove us all wrong, but you just can't do this because it depresses the vote," he told Berliner. "He needs 60-to-65 million votes in order to win the presidency — and I bet he's not at 20 right now."
