Former Rep. Tom Tancredo tells
Newsmax TV that President Barack Obama's kid-glove treatment of Iran shows he is more sympathetic to the Muslim world than he is to the United States.
"The president of the United States is not opposed to the intentions of Iran. I mean I know how that might sound to people, but I am convinced that that is true," Tancredo said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"I am convinced that he indeed holds the same sort of world view as do the people in Iran, the mullahs there. I believe he is much more sympathetic to their world view than to ours in the West.
"I know how that sounds, but I'm telling you, every single thing he has done … if you could just write a book about this and leave out the fact that he's the president … and just say all of the things that he has said and done, you would come to the conclusion this guy is on their side."
According to a provisional nuclear deal hammered out between Iran and world powers including the U.S., Iran will accept a 70 percent cut in its uranium enrichment capacity and a reduction in its stockpile of low-enriched uranium of up to 97 percent in return for relief from crippling economic sanctions.
But many GOP lawmakers believe the Middle East nation won't abide by the deal. And
according to a new report in the Guardian newspaper, Britain has told the United Nations that Iran has attempted to buy uranium enrichment technology on the black market.
Tancredo — author of
"In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America's Border and Security," published by Cumberland House — also fears the Obama administration may not have Israel's back if the Jewish State faces a nuclear threat from Iran.
"I'd be upset but not surprised if at some point … when Israel decides it has to go it alone, that there are no options, that Iran is on the brink of developing a nuclear device they're going to use against Israel and Israel is going to take some action, I would not be surprised if this president threatens Israel … says, don't do it or else, and would actually be more inclined to use the military, our military, against Israel than against Iran," Tancredo told Steve Malzberg.
