Donald Trump Jr. told Newsmax TV on Thursday that he wrote his New York Times best-selling book to expose the "double standards and false equivalencies" that are so "flagrant" in Washington and the media.
"You see that day in day out," Trump Jr. said of "Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us," in an exclusive interview with "America Talks Live" host John Cardillo.
"You see what put me through for a 20-minute unsolicited meeting, versus Hunter Biden and all the shade around that."
Trump Jr. was referring to his June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower with several Russians during the campaign under the guise of obtaining negative information on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Russia special counsel Robert Mueller concluded that the meeting did not amount to collusion because the information offered by the Russians did not pan out.
Trump Jr. referenced the "billions of dollars" Hunter Biden allegedly made as a former board member of a Ukrainian energy company — and how his father, former Vice President Joe Biden bragged last year about holding $1 billion in aid to Kyiv in 2015 if it did not fire a prosecutor involved in a probe of the state-owned gas firm.
Biden was "literally saying these things laughing," Trump Jr. told Cardillo, and it went unchallenged by the press.
"It's the double standards and the false equivalency that the media tries to create," he continued. "It's so disgusting. It's so flagrant.
"It's so obvious at this point."
