"The Viewers View" YouTube pundits Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson
say they're "going Republican" if Donald Trump is the party's standard-bearer in 2016, insisting their decision is based neither on race nor politics.
In a lively interview Wednesday with "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner on
Newsmax TV, Hardaway said the African American commentators may be Democrats, but "we have our own mind."
"Before I'm a Republican or a Democrat, I am an African-American – and I'm an American first – and this is about we the people," Hardaway said.
"[I']m going to tell everybody out there 'Listen, we need a leader that's willing to lead us … [Trump is] going to take us into the right direction. He's going to take us to where we need to be in this country and I believe he's for all people, not just the 1 percent, all people."

Hardaway said Trump's message on jobs and leadership "resonates with us," and "if our man Donald Trump get this, we going Republican, baby."
"It was like a breath of fresh air," Hardaway said of Trump's remarks since announcing his candidacy. "It's like now we have a leader. We have someone that can lead us, secure that border, bring jobs back to America so people can not only survive but they can also thrive in this country, and that's what we need. We need a leader… and we see that."
"Even though we're African-American, we are part of the silent majority," she added.
"And with all of the political correctness in this country, we need someone who's going to say 'hey, we're going to look out for American people.'"
Richardson said as a businesswoman, "I believe he will take and turn this American nightmare into the American dream."
"I analyze the situation and strategize on how to do the outcome so that everything can be successful," Richardson said. "That's why Mr. Donald Trump resonates with me...."
