The GOP is looking at every option to “block” and “push back” President Barack Obama’s far-reaching executive amnesty order that he will disclose to Americans during a Thursday night television broadcast, Louisiana Sen. David Vitter said Thursday on
Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”
“It's going to have to involve the funding process so we're looking at every version of how we can be most effective,” he said. “In addition, there needs to be a push in the courts. It is way beyond the line, illegal and unconstitutional what the president is talking about.”

Exactly what route Republicans plan to take has not been decided, Vitter said. Since the president also signs spending bills, that “complication and challenge” will also be considered when
reaching a consensus.
There are at least two significant meetings per week of the entire Republican conference while smaller groups of members are meeting informally.
“We're meeting to work through every possible option to see what would work the best,” Vitter said.
In addition to restricting spending on programs related to executive amnesty, officials are also discussing including a Senate prohibition on confirming presidential appointees.

“Everything is on the table and this is serious enough that all of that deserves consideration,” he said. “First of all, it's horrible policy that's going to make the flow of illegals significantly worse and make the problem worse. Secondly and even much importantly, this is crossing the
constitutional line and this is a serious constitutional matter.”
Litigation is also a possibility, though Vitter acknowledged that it’s not the most appealing since it takes years to reach the Supreme Court.
“It certainly wouldn't be the only thing to do by any means and it wouldn't be the thing that could have the most direct and immediate impact.”
