David Jolly's win in Florida's special congressional election is a tremendous victory for the Republican Party, says conservative radio host and author Kevin Jackson.
"It's huge. The fact that the Democrats, that Obama had carried that particular area twice and Jolly comes in in a special election and steals their thunder," Jackson told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"As far as a bellwether for 2014, this, among the thousands of other things that are out there, scandal on top of scandal, this is huge," he said Wednesday.

Jackson, author of
"The BIG Black Lie: How I Learned the Truth About the Democrat Party," says that while President Barack Obama "comes off very tough" in pushing through legislation and tweaking laws, it is backfiring.
"He's pandered to every group that's out there. He's talked about empowerment zones, he's pitted the rich against the poor, he's talked about inequality in every way," he said.
"He's out there hawking Obamacare, [which] quite honestly, I find it almost pimpish the way he goes out trying to sell this albatross.... Politicians are running from it left and right."
"I'm telling you, Democrats are scared, and if you look at this race in the macrocosm of things, you'll see that this is exactly what the Democrats have feared in a non-presidential election."
Newmax White House correspondent John Gizzi said Jolly's win is particularly impressive because of the odds he faced.
"David Jolly went into this race exhausted and wounded.... He had to defeat two opponents in a primary, which split the family of the late congressman Bill Young — his widow and his son taking different sides — he was outspent, and he was hit with the L-word, lobbyist," Gizzi said.
"David Jolly was a Washington lobbyist, which is not exactly an endearing title to have going into an election."
