Kevin Jackson: Sam NFL Draft Kiss Plays Into Gay Agenda

Monday, 19 May 2014 05:44 PM EDT

Michael Sam — the first openly gay football player drafted by the NFL — played into the hands of the nation's gay activists with the impassioned kiss he gave his boyfriend on live TV, according to conservative radio host Kevin Jackson.

"The gay movement needed the black stud, the dude playing a manly sport," Jackson told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"And what the NFL figured out is you know what, at the end of the day our demographic is not the Oprah Winfrey group. It's not these knuckleheads that are talking about gay pride and all that. It's a group of guys that just want to watch the sport played by the best athlete out there.

"I will watch a Muslim woman if she can run like Earl Campbell, I'll be tuned in...."

Story continues below video.

The comments by Jackson, author of "The BIG Black Lie," published by The Black Sphere, came during a panel discussion with Malzberg and Democratic strategist and writer Bridget Todd, who believes the kiss was much ado about nothing.

"It’s really interesting that when we have heterosexual athletes kissing their wives and their partners on TV, nobody asks whether or not it's done for publicity … nobody makes any comment about it at all,'' she said.

"We're talking about treating him like any regular athlete, but I don't see you two doing that, I see you two making it into the issue, you know, we have heterosexuals kissing each other every day.''
