Clarence McKee: Obama and Kerry Are Deserting Sgt. Tahmooressi

By    |   Monday, 09 June 2014 06:52 PM EDT

Just like Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl allegedly deserted his platoon in Afghanistan before being taken prisoner by the Taliban, Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi is being deserted by President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, Newsmax columnist Clarence McKee says.

"The alleged person in Afghanistan, Mr. Bergdahl, apparently was a deserter. Here in Mexico, south of the border, secretary Kerry and the president of the United States have deserted Sgt. Tahmooressi," McKee told Ed Berliner on Newsmax TV's "Midpoint" talk show Monday.

"He's a United States Marine, served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, where the other military officer was trying to get out of Afghanistan service, apparently," he said.

Tahmooressi was arrested in Mexico after he made a wrong turn across the Mexico border from California in late March. He was found in Mexico with three registered firearms along with other belongings in his car. Under Mexican law, is illegal to enter that country with firearms.

Bergdahl was released from the Taliban in exchange for five detainees being kept in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His platoon-mates allege he deserted his post in Afghanistan, which is why he ended up as a Taliban prisoner.

As far as Sgt. Tahmooressi, for making "a wrong turn, he gets treated like he's a captive of war — chained to a bed, beaten, and where is the United States government?" McKee asked.

"They're too busy exchanging five dangerous killers, Taliban people, for a soldier in Afghanistan."
