"A villain’s strength lies in their ability to manipulate others," this wise observation is from highly acclaimed and best-selling author J.K. Rowling, in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (2000).
For over 40 years, our national health policy has been dominated by a man so cunning he might have made Charles Ponzi empty his wallet.
Recently, a friend sent this writer a text informing me that Dr, Anthony Fauci had just received a pardon from then-outgoing President Joe Biden.
Scrolling through social media, I browsed reactions ranging from indignant expletives to the usual comments of "Fauci for Prison."
It's safe to say that many people in our nation would be delighted to see Anthony Fauci perp-walked, put in a police car and headed towards court — for his trial.
Fauci's (and like-minded individuals) engaged in policies igniting, years of paranoia, division, and insane overreach by bureaucrats that will remain indelibly etched in our memories.
In fact some of these just enumerated results remain with us today.
For an appreciable number; those not even sick, the pandemic never ends.
A "respected" scientist needed a last-minute pardon?
A pardon from Joe Biden?
This is a far more satisfying result than seeing him prosecuted.
Why?
Because the legacy media would portray Fauci as a "martyr," and there are certainly no guarantees about a trial outcome.
In Dr. Fauci’s case, while there won’t be a criminal trial, we have instant satisfaction.
Fauci’s defenders can't spin their way out of this one, because there are no rational explanations.
Does a truly honest scientist need a pre-emptive presidential pardon, one retroactively to 10 years?
After having secured a pardon that will likely render any attempts at criminal prosecution moot, Fauci went on to play the "innocent tough guy" who didn’t really need a pardon.
"Let me be perfectly clear, I have committed no crime and there are no possible grounds for any allegation or threat of criminal investigation or prosecution of me," said Fauci.
Credit Fauci for mastering the Monday morning quarterback routine.
Time after time he has offered controversial and unwarranted opinions about infectious diseases, only to disavow those conclusions a short time later without ever mentioning the origin of the absurd claims (him).
But at least this time few people are likely to die as a result of his sophistry.
Many of us simply can't "unremember" images of cops descending upon a mom and her young children trying to eat in a restaurant without presenting proof of vaccination, or of police storming a Panera Bread to arrest a man who refused to display his vaccine papers.
These unfortunate anecdotes harken back to a very recent and ugly time in our history brought to you by Fauci and cohorts. This is another way of saying, during that time, we unquestionably returned to the Dark Ages.
If only those incidents were Fauci’s worst transgressions regarding the pandemic.
Let's review:
- Countless Americans lost their careers.
- Countless Americans lost their livelihoods.
- Countless Americans lost their businesses because of Fauci’s unscientific, outright hysterically-based lockdowns.
From a public health perspective, who knows how many lives would have been saved if Dr, Jay Bhattacharya was at the helm of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) instead of Fauci?
We won’t ever get an answer to that question and in all fairness, we can’t attribute malevolence (with absolute certainty) to Fauci’s disastrous advice on handling the pandemic.
Was the man — who once indicated to us that kids could get HIV just from talking to their AIDS infected uncle — simply overmatched to the comparatively recent pandemic?
No fair, sane, or rational person should want Dr. Fauci punished because he simply made mistakes, no matter how devastating. And of course that is the narrative some of his defenders peddle, but what's real reason Team Fauci is so relieved at his pardon?
In May 2021, Dr. Fauci repeatedly told a congressional committee that his agency did not fund gain of function research in China, his denial turned out to be incorrect.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who is also a physician, requested that Fauci be investigated for possibly lying to Congress about funding gain of function research.
Dr. Fauci aggressively helped to fund, and engineered ways to evade restrictions on funding the kind of research that may have led to the outbreak of the virus.
At the onset of the pandemic, Dr. Fauci suppressed a credible study showing that COVID-19 originated from a Chinese lab leak.
Leaked emails provide credible evidence that Dr, Fauci actively engaged in a broader conspiracy to cover up the origins of the virus.
Through decades of effective scheming, Fauci was permitted to build the kind of impenetrable fiefdom that mad scientists could only dream of, with any other scientist daring to question Fauci, being branded as dangerous and incompetent.
Ironically, Fauci’s "pardon" will shine the light on his disastrous reign, if not abuse of power, far better than any trial.
So let Fauci enjoy his pardon, the truth won’t be suppressed forever.
History will be harsh, guaranteed.
