It's far easier for many people to ignore a horrific injustice, pretend it never happened, or continue to perpetuate a lie rather than recognize the damage and devastation caused to millions of Americans by the Robespierre like reign of terror executed for several years by a coalition of mad scientists, radical leftists, and agoraphobes on "steroids."
Yet, now is a time of reckoning when as Americans, we must come to terms with the reality that countless lives and families have been destroyed by thinly veiled totalitarianism in the name of fighting COVID-19.
It's tempting for those who have been wronged to want revenge. Many have seen the memes where various officials are led out in handcuffs and perp-walked for the cameras.
While such images might be amusing and generate many clicks, their message is also unrealistic, and not at all helpful.
Such content may offer a release for many who have had their lives razed by power-mad bureaucrats, but these visions are frankly (in the long run) unrealistic.
Make no mistake, these horrific injustices must be corrected, not only so that they never occur again, but also so that we can collectively start the long-delayed process of making amends and helping those so savagely targeted for questioning the powers that be.
The ugly truth is far worse than many of us may want to recognize. Americans throughout our great nation have been left destitute and struggling because they were "canceled for not complying."
We must not ignore or forget about those who lost their careers and businesses due to , frankly, barbaric and anti-scientific lockdowns.
It may be folly to fantasize about seeing Dr. Fauci behind bars, but it's absolutely necessary that (as an enlightened and empathetic people) we conduct a thorough examination of how and why we allowed one of the most scientifically awkward bureaucrats in U.S. history, to wield life-changing power over the lives of millions of Americans.
We need not limit our purview to the disastrous, and wildly irrational policies spearheaded by Fauci during the pandemic, indeed it’s quite helpful to go back several decades retracing a pattern of panic-peddling and unparalleled fear mongering.
In 1983, a doctor at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) sent shockwaves through the medical community when he published an article in the Journal of the American Medical Assocation (JAMA) claiming that the AIDS virus may be transmitted through casual contact. The doctor making that highly irresponsible, and thoroughly debunked claim was none other than Anthony Fauci.
During an interview recorded in May of 1983, Dr. Fauci said the following about the potential consequences of interacting with those carrying the AIDS virus:
"if the close contact of a child is a household contact, perhaps there will be a certain number of cases of individuals who are just living with and in close contact with someone with AIDS, or at risk of AIDS, who does not necessarily have to have intimate sexual contact or share a needle, but just the ordinary close contact that one sees in normal interpersonal relations."
Some people may be too young to remember the stigma and scorn directed towards those who were infected with the virus in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
It was brutal shameful, and unnecessary. It was also completely avoidable.
Back in October of 2021, this writer recalls when he was in an office inundated with hundreds of calls from New York City Police Officers about to lose their careers because of a policy being instituted by then New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

They could either take the jab or be "canceled."
These were human beings, like the rest of us, who have hopes, dreams, aspirations, and families, and also chose an occupation where potentially getting murdered during their shifts is part of the job.
I never imagined I could have such heart wrenching discussions with people I’d never met.
Let’s not forget the healthcare workers, first responders, and teachers who had almost everything taken from them.
There is also a category of people we have forgotten and must also assist.
Far too many individuals working in the private sector also lost their careers because of these mandates; edicts formulated and based on grossly incorrect information and false premises.
We need to put COVID-19 behind us as much as is practicable. We must do so as quickly as possible.
All government employees fired over the mandates must be rehired with their back pay, seniority, and benefits fully restored.
While such options may not be available to private-sector employees, anyone who lost their job due to these awful mandates deserves to be compensated by local government.
To quote from Abraham Lincoln's second inaugural address, March 4, 1865, "With malice toward none with charity for all with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right let us strive on to finish the work we are in to bind up the nation's wounds."
