Impeachment Has Been the Left's Agenda All Along

They somberly wrap themselves in the flag and cite the Constitution in a half-baked attempt to sell their impeachment jihad to the public.

The reality is that the ‘Impeach Trump’ train has been revving since the man was elected. It’s been a foregone conclusion that Democrats were going to get around to this sooner or later — and before the 2020 election. More on that below.

On January 20, 2017 — Inauguration Day! — The Washington Post published an article titled “The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun.”

Here’s an excerpt:

“The effort to impeach President Donald John Trump is already underway. At the moment the new commander in chief was sworn in, a campaign to build public support for his impeachment went live at ImpeachDonaldTrumpNow.org, spearheaded by two liberal advocacy groups aiming to lay the groundwork for his eventual ejection from the White House.”

At least they waited until he was inaugurated before going public.

Democrats, who swear that they’re not predisposed toward impeachment have nonetheless conducted four impeachment votes in the House:

• First vote was December 6, 2017. Democrats in favor: 58.
• Second vote was January 19, 2018. Democrats in favor: 66.
• Third vote was July 17, 2019. Democrats in favor: 95.
• Fourth vote was October 31, 2019. Democrats in favor: 232.

The first three votes were cast before Trump had even had the phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky, which is driving the current impeachment mania.

Here’s another tidbit: of the 24 House Democrats on the Judicial Committee, you know, the same “impartial” bunch busily drafting Articles of Impeachment, 17 have already voted to impeach Trump.

Beyond the House votes, wild-eyed impeachment rhetoric and investigations have been nonstop on CNN, MSNBC, et al.

Here’s Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters, on MSNBC in early January 2017, before Trump was inaugurated: Waters said that Trump could be impeached for “the way he described her [Hillary] in the campaign.” Thereafter, of course, Mad Maxine has made her intent totally clear with her chants of “Impeach 45!”

In March 2017, Democrat Congressman Al Green, who has a full-blown, stage-four case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, took to the House floor and called for impeachment. Donald J. had barely had time to unpack his suitcase, much less commit impeachable offenses.

We know that for years the focus was on Russian collusion. Democrats assured their base that they had the goods to impeach. Clear evidence. Take it to the bank. Then the facts came out with the Muller report and his testimony. Which led to much liberal wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Aside from 'Russia! Russia! Russia!,' and before 'Ukraine! Ukraine! Ukraine!,' alternate impeachment fantasies have been legion. Dozens of elected Democrats, aided and abetted by their cohort media, served up nonstop impeachment red meat. There were the violations of the Emoluments Clause, allegedly illegal payoffs to Stormy Daniels and others, campaign finance violations, income tax evasion, multiple accusations of racism, just to name a few. They just can’t help themselves; it’s an addiction.

On the night of her election victory, freshmen Congresswoman-elect Rashida Talib screeched: “We’re gonna go in there and impeach the Motherf***er!” She wasn’t even sworn in yet.

Recently, the Democrat National Committee actually held focus groups to poll test which impeachment terms were most impactful to the public. Seriously. I wish I were making this up.

For a while the Left went full orgasmic over the 25^th Amendment. Someone inside the Administration was going to forcibly remove POTUS for cause. Toss Big Bad Orange over the White House fence, then we’ll deal with boring Mike Pence. Not.

What’s this really about? The Left has never accepted the 2016 election, and they see some ugly writing on the wall for 2020. Just listen to the aforementioned Congressman Green on MSNBC: “I’m concerned if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.”

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez echoed that on CNN: “The impeachment inquiry into President Trump is not just about something that has occurred, it’s about preventing a potentially disastrous outcome from occurring next year."

Liberals don’t believe that all you ignorant deplorables in the heartland can be trusted. Therefore they’ve weaponized the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees in order to ram through a fact-averse, hyper-partisan impeachment. Because Trump has to go. By any means necessary. It’s as irresponsible as it is dangerous.

So don’t believe the Democrat hand wringing over their “duty” to impeach Trump because of a phone call to Ukraine. This rage-driven strategy has been their intent all along.
