Sites that bundle millions in small-dollar donations for Democratic candidates nationwide have proven so effective that Republicans must either counter with their own crowdfunding initiatives or risk losing the White House in 2020, campaign strategists warn.  

Crowdfunding campaigns have been a key advantage for Democrats in the 2018 midterms, and could easily make the difference in several tight races this year. Republican candidates generally have found themselves outspent and outgunned virtually across the board, with only a few exceptions.
