Are Banks Trying to Get Around Gun Registration Bans?

Banks and credit card processing centers appear to be assisting the Biden administration in creating what amounts to an informal gun registration program, according to manufacturers and lawmakers.

Many financial institutions last year announced their intent to adopt the International Organization for Standardization's new merchant code for gun shop sales. Previously, firearm and ammo purchases charged to credit or debit cards were described as "general merchandise."
