Joe Biden’s plans to loosen immigration restrictions will likely lead to an influx of migrants both legal and illegal. It’s possible the surge will cause a spike, although experts are divided about what will happen.

Policy and immigration experts are heavily divided on whether Biden’s relaxed immigration policies would usher in a new wave of crime. Many argue the numbers will forecast the results — more immigrants will lead to more crime. But others say there isn’t enough data to show a correlation between illegal immigrants and crime rates.
