The highly anticipated BRICS event was supposed to be the international equivalent of the October 2022 Communist Party Congress event at which Xi Jinping was crowned with an unprecedented third term and publicly dispatched with his predecessor, Hu Jintao.

BRICS 2023 was to be the Gold Medal Ceremony of China's Olympics-like effort to displace the U.S.
