The growing war of words between U.S. leaders and Chinese officials over the global virus pandemic escalated further with China’s release of an animated video openly mocking the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The video, titled “Once Upon a Virus,” was posted the Twitter page of the Chinese embassy in France on Thursday. It bears the logo of the state-run Xinhua News Agency, which has close ties to the Communist Party of China. The video also was posted on Xinhua’s New China TV YouTube channel.
