James Woolsey Warns of Iranian EMP Attack Scenario

U.S. leaders must weigh the possibility that Iran could very quickly develop the capacity to use an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon against the United States or its allies in the Middle East, former CIA Director and Ambassador R. James Woolsey Jr. warned in an exclusive Newsmax interview.

Speaking from Seoul, South Korea, last week, Woolsey told Newsmax that if Iran resumes uranium enrichment and attempts to “breakout” to nuclear capability — a pattern of behavior it has been reluctant to pursue while European leaders try to find a way to salvage the Obama-era nuclear deal President Trump rejected a year ago — that “it could conceivably be just a matter of months” until it could develop a workable device.
