James Woolsey to Newsmax TV: 'Break Iran Economically'

Former CIA Director James Woolsey (James Crisp/AP)

By    |   Thursday, 19 September 2019 07:58 PM EDT

Calling for President Donald Trump to "break Iran's back economically," Clinton administration CIA Director James Woolsey compared doing nothing to allowing Germany to fester in the 1930s before World War II.

"The only possible positive outcome is speaking softly – as Teddy Roosevelt put it – and carrying a big stick," Woolsey told Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now."
