Japan Under-Reporting Coronavirus Cases, Critics Warn

It is a curious conundrum that is attracting more and more scrutiny: As of Tuesday afternoon, Japan, a nation of 127 million people, had reported just 1,953 cases of the virus.

That compares to 9,786 cases in South Korea, 12,775 cases in Belgium, and 94,417 cases in Spain —  countries whose combined population is less than Japan's.
