NATO on Wednesday is set to launch its most extensive war game since the Cold War, commencing a six-month military exercise that will mobilize about 90,000 service members from 31 allies – including prospective member Sweden.

"Steadfast Defender 24" comes amid escalating global tensions, as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine, China steps up its maritime belligerence and aggressive rhetoric toward Taiwan, and the Middle East threatens to erupt.
