Politico has quietly modified — but not retracted — a story claiming President Donald Trump and a business partner borrowed $211 million from a Chinese bank that would be “due soon.”
In fact, it now appears the loan granted by the Bank of China in 2012 was sold 22 days later to other investors. That means the Chinese bank hasn’t owned the debt for over seven years, unloaded it immediately, and did so several years before the 2016 campaign.
