Rep. Rob Wittman to Newsmax TV: DC Monument Proposal 'Mind Boggling'

Rep. Rob Wittman, R-Va., decried Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser for even considering the recommendations of a task force she impaneled which suggested pressing the federal government to have "removed, renamed, or contextualized" national landmarks such as the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial.

"When I heard this, I thought at first, I said 'This must be an article in The Onion or Babylon Bee,'" Wittman said Wednesday on Newsmax TV's "Spicer & Co.," referring to the satirical news websites. "And then when I looked further into it, I just, I couldn't believe it.
