An unprecedented wave of diplomatic expulsions swept the globe Tuesday, with 27 countries acting in concert to order 138 Russians to pack their bags and return to mother Russia.

The United States led the way, expelling 60 Russians operating under diplomatic cover. The U.K. has already expelled 23, the Ukraine is expelling 13, NATO is expelling seven, and four nations — Canada, France, Germany, and Poland — have announced they will expel four Russians each.
