The latest polls show Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has officially emerged as the new Democratic front-runner, winning four out of the last five national polls asking Democrats to name their preferred choice for the nomination.
As of Thursday afternoon, the RealClearPolitics national poll average showed Sanders in the lead with 23.6%, former Vice President Joe Biden at 19.2%, former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg with 14.2%, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 12.4% and former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 10.6%.
