Mass Shooter Drills Traumatize Children, Experts Warn

The trend toward frequent, realistic first-person shooter drills in schools could create a traumatized generation beset with anxiety issues, child-welfare advocates warn.  

Over 96 percent of U.S. schools now conduct lockdown drills, according to the Education Department’s National Center for Education Statistics. Yet little study has been devoted to the effect of the repeated drills on children.
