Report: Shocking New Tech 'Bends Sound' to Render Subs 'Invisible'

Scientists at Penn State University might have stumbled on a radical new technology that "bends" sound waves around an object – potentially making a submarine invisible to detection by sonar.

The new technology involves a special "metamaterial" with unique properties that would effectively cloak submarines, giving them the same freedom from detection below water that stealth aircraft enjoy in the skies above.
