Vermont's Welch Is 1st Senate Dem to Call on Biden to Exit Election

Vermont Sen. Peter Welch has called on Joe Biden to withdraw from the November election, becoming the first Senate Democrat to do so.

In a Washington Post op-ed piece, he said: "I understand why President Biden wants to run. He saved us from Donald Trump once and wants to do it again. But he needs to reassess whether he is the best candidate to do so. In my view, he is not."
