The AARP is running ads against the Republican healthcare plan in five states with GOP senators.

The ad warns that "At the end of the month, there isn't much [money] left. That's why the Senate's health care bill is so devastating. You'll spend even more on premiums . . . Pay more for prescriptions . . . And your family's coverage could be taken away," ending with a plea for voters to contact their GOP senators and push them to vote against the bill.

"The more that older Americans learn about the Senate's health care bill, the more they worry about what it will mean for themselves and their families," AARP Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond said in a statement from PR Newswire. "Policies that impose an age tax, undermine Medicare solvency and drastically cut funding for Medicaid will have a devastating impact on millions of hard-working Americans. That's why AARP is urging Senators to vote NO."

The ads will run on tv and radio in Alaska, Colorado, Ohio, Nevada and West Virginia, asking constituents to contact the Republican senators from each state, though only Alaska’s senior senator, Lisa Murkowski, was mentioned in the Alaska ad.
