Having just been soundly defeated at the polls from Capitol Hill to Pennsylvania Avenue, Democrats are eyeing 2018 as the year they take back middle America, according to a story in the Washington Examiner.
"We need to have a national campaign, not only in the presidential elections but in the congressional elections as well," Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff was quoted a recent event. "We will have an opportunity to do that in two years. We'll have wind at our backs."
Apparently, Schiff and the Dems think Americans will see that President-elect Donald Trump is a disaster in his first two years and that Dems will experience a renaissance in two short years.
"I think that great mass in the middle of the country really ought to be most responsive to the message of the Democratic Party," Schiff said. "Those ought to be our natural voters. Now they haven't been for some time. We're going to have to win their confidence back. We're going to have to speak to the issues that they care about."
