President Donald Trump's administration has not done much to protect the U.S. from Russian interference in any upcoming elections, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., told CNN's "New Day" Wednesday.
Schiff took issue with some of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' comments during his Tuesday testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. At one point, Sessions said he had not followed through with steps to protect elections.

"Of all the important questions not to be able to answer, that is pretty much at the top of the list," Schiff told "New Day."
"I think it is indicative, frankly, of the fact that the administration has done little to nothing to protect us from the next Russian intervention, because they won't admit the first took place," said Schiff, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee.
Sessions' statements during the Senate testimony make him seem less credible, Schiff said at another point during the "New Day" interview.
"Do we have an attorney general that we can count on to level with the American people?" Schiff said.
The congressman added that any Trump administration ties to Russia need to be revealed.
"We need to let the country know exactly what leverage the Russians may have over our president," Schiff said in the CNN interview.
