Al Hoffman Jr., a top GOP donor who has repeatedly blasted the Republican Party for its position on gun control, on Saturday said he would no longer contribute to candidates or groups, “unless they all support a ban on assault weapons,” The New York Times reports.

Hoffman relayed his ultimatum in an email to half a dozen Republican leaders, including Florida Gov. Rick Scott and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. He also told Scott and Rep. Brian Mast he would not contribute to their campaigns if they did not support gun legislation – Scott is considering running for senator in 2018.

“I will not write another check unless they all support a ban on assault weapons,” he wrote. “Enough is enough!”

Hoffman’s comments come three days after police say 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at a Florida high school, killing 17 and injuring 17 in one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history.

Hoffman is a Florida-based real estate developer who has donated millions of dollars to Republicans and GOP super-PACs.

“For how many years now have we been doing this — having these experiences of terrorism, mass killings — and how many years has it been that nothing’s been done?” Hoffman told the New York Times. “It’s the end of the road for me.”
