Alan Dershowitz, Harvard University Law School professor, said Monday that former FBI officials Andrew McCabe and James Comey made "very inconsistent points" when testifying under oath.
"It's one of these cases where one of them is not telling the truth obviously," Dershowitz said on Fox Business' "Mornings with Maria." "McCabe and Comey seem to have stated under oath very inconsistent points."
Last Friday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe, the former Deputy Director of the FBI, for his actions during the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server. Sessions accused McCabe of a "lack of candor" when speaking under oath.
Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano warned Monday that despite Sessions' statement, McCabe's firing could be interpreted as "obstruction of justice," and described the firing as "reckless" and "vindictive" due to the fact that McCabe is likely to testify against the president.
Dershowitz accused Comey, the former FBI Director, of not having "the courage to stand up in front of the television cameras and express his views that a special counsel should be appointed, so he laundered the information through a law professor," and adding "that should be the subject of an investigation to determine who is telling the truth."
