American Action Network, a group that is associated with Republican leadership in the House of Representatives, launched an ad Monday thanking Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, for his call to reform the tax code.

The ad includes comments Ryan made Thursday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," in which he promoted cutting the corporate tax rate and simplifying the tax code, moves that are supported by Republicans.

"We can't just be the party of redistribution of wealth, we've got to be the party of creation of wealth," Ryan said Thursday in the MSNBC interview.

The ad will air on TV and digitally beginning Tuesday in Ryan's Ohio district. This is the first ad American Action Network is running in a district whose congressman is a Democrat, according to The Hill.

Gary Cohn, the White House's chief economic adviser, said Friday that President Donald Trump's administration is "working very closely" with congressional leadership on tax reform.
