Texas Sen. Ted Cruz refused to endorse Donald Trump for president during his speech at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, a move that resulted in a shower of boos as he finished his speech and walked off the stage.

Reaction from others was mixed.

At the end of his speech Wednesday night in the Quicken Loans Arena, Cruz came up short of calling for voters to support Trump, who was officially named the Republican party's nominee Tuesday night, in November.

"Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience," he said. "Vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution."
