Republican candidate Steve Negron is struggling to overcome the historically blue New Hampshire 2nd Congressional District, trailing incumbent Rep. Annie Kuster, D-NH, by 12 points in the latest Emerson College poll.
Rep. Kuster pulled 52 percent of likely voters, while Negron received 40 percent – 7 percent still undecided.
According to RealClear Politics analysis, Democrats have controlled the district in both of the past two presidential elections and Kuster's double-digit lead earns a "likely Dem" rating.
Edwards is overcoming President Donald Trump's negative 9-point favorability ratio in New Hampshire. President Trump is viewed favorably by 42 percent and unfavorably by 51 percent.
Emerson College polled 569 potential voters between Oct. 27-29 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.
