Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer Friday urged the Trump administration to handle personnel matters "privately and internally" amid the fallout over presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway endorsing Ivanka Trump's clothing line from the White House.

The post comes after CNN reported Friday that a senior White House official said that President Trump told Conway that he backed her "completely" — and the adviser later tweeted his support.

On Thursday, White House spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters that Conway was "counseled" for saying on Fox News that viewers should "go buy Ivanka's stuff" — possibly violating federal ethics rules.
