Taking aim at his challenger popular among American cities, President Donald Trump mocked Joe Biden for calling the battleground state of Arizona "an important city."
Trump tweeted Sunday:
This week you had Joe Biden call Arizona a CITY. Nothing matters with him, however, because the Opposition Party (Lamestream Media) covers everything up – especially the corruption. The Obama/Biden Administration is the most corrupt in history. They even spied on my campaign!
As the New York Post reported, Trump's remarks come after Biden responded to an Arizona NBC TV host who thanked the presumptive Democratic presidential primary nominee for "taking some time to talk to the people of our state."
"Oh, you're an important city," Biden replied. "You guys are going through hell right now, are ya?"
Biden, like many Democrats, is heavily backed by voters in cities vs. suburbia or rural areas. Generally, there is a large enough Democrat voting bloc to win elections in America's cities alone – something that might even put once deep-red states like Texas in play for Biden in this November's election.
A CNN battleground state poll has Biden leading Trump in the state of Arizona.
