GOP Sen. Ayotte: Forget About Obamacare Repeal

By    |   Monday, 04 November 2013 12:00 PM EST

Sen. Kelly Ayotte says that while she supports the repeal of Obamacare, it's not politically possible now.

"I support repeal, absolutely," the New Hampshire Republican said Monday on "CBS This Morning." "But the political reality is, right now that’s not going to happen."

Story continues below video.

Asked what the Republican strategy should be on dealing with Obamacare problems, Ayotte suggested that a bipartisan group be convened to determine "how do we get this right for healthcare and the country."

Ayotte, who opposed the move by more conservative Republicans to force a government shutdown in their attempt to kill off the healthcare law, said it's time for lawmakers "to take a complete time out" on the issue and then try to work together to resolve issues with the healthcare law.
