Fox News host Bret Baier said President Donald Trump handed House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., "an article of impeachment" in real-time by targeting former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch on Twitter.

Baier's comments came in a tweet on Friday as Yovanovitch gave public testimony in the impeachment inquiry.

He wrote: "That was a turning point in this hearing so far. She was already a sympathetic witness & the President's tweet ripping her allowed Schiff to point it out real time characterizing it as witness tampering or intimidation -adding an article of impeachment real-time."

Trump attacked Yovanovitch in a series of tweets as she testified on Friday.

He said that "everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad," noting that "it is a U.S. President's absolute right to appoint ambassadors."
