Vice President Joe Biden backed Hillary Clinton on Thursday — in an indirect endorsement that came after President Barack Obama supported the presumptive Democratic nominee earlier in the day.

"Whoever the next president is, and in my view, God willing, it'll be Secretary Clinton," Biden said in a speech to the American Constitution Society in Washington, Politico reports.

He was speaking about the need to fill the Supreme Court vacancy following the death of Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, according to the report.
