Outspoken comedian Bill Maher donated $2 million to super PACs affiliated with Democrats in the House and Senate, Politico reports.
Maher gave $1 million each to the House Majority PAC and Senate Majority PAC on Aug. 20, Politico reported, citing new campaign finance disclosures.
The host of HBO's "Real Times with Bill Maher," has given smaller checks to candidates in the past. But Federal Election Commission records reveal he had donated $1 million to a super PAC supporting the re-election of President Barack Obama in 2012, according to Politico.
Maher recently referred to President Donald Trump as a traitor during an interview.
